John F. Krughel

John F. Krughel, age 78, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2017 at Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson.

John was born November 21, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Fred and Charlotte (Eads) Krughel. He attended Clinton High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. On June 5, 1960, John married Carol Hagen at the Church of Christ in Clinton.

John worked for Clinton Corn for 20 years, and afterward, worked as a truck driver until retirement. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed reading western books, playing video games, and fishing.

John will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Carol; four children, Debra Krughel of Fulton, Illinois, Brenda Fosdick of Fort Walten Beach, Florida, John (Trish) Krughel, Jr. of Clinton, and Thomas (Val) Krughel of Freeport, Illinois and eight grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Charlotte; and two sisters, Shirley Hartman and Janet Paz.
