John “Jack” L. Limage, age 79, of Hanover, Illinois, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Midwest Medical Center, Galena, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover.
Jack was born on November 3, 1930, the son of Marion and Marie (McGivney) Limage in Hanover. He graduated from Hanover High School with the Class of 1948 and later attended the University of Dubuque, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. After college, John served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Lynn Zuber in 1961 in Hanover.
In 1960, Jack and his brother, Donald purchased the Hanover Lumber Yard from their father. Jack sold the lumberyard in 1968 and began working as a Budget Analyst at the Savanna Army Depot. Jack worked at the Savanna Army Depot until retiring in 1988. Jack was a member of the Hanover V.F.W.
Jack will be missed by his two sons, Mark E. Limage of Jackson, Wyoming and Bret L. Limage of Washington, D.C.; one granddaughter, Zoe Liberatore; one niece, Mary Kay (Mark) Hoffman of Wasilla, Alaska, and one nephew, Gary Limage of Alaska. Jack is preceded in death by his brother, Donald and his nieces Judy and Donna Brown.
