John H. Hebeler, age 58, of Savanna, Illinois, died Monday, August 6, 2007, at his home in Savanna. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in John's memory.
John was born on December 15, 1948 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Edward W. and Maxine I. (Aitken) Hebeler Sr. He attended Savanna area Schools and married Ruth L. Michels on July 25, 1987 in Mount Carroll, Illinois.
John was involved in section labor for the Burlington Northern Railroad for nearly ten years. He later worked in maintenance for Elkay Manufacturing in Savanna. John loved working in his garage at his home as a Motor Mechanic for over twenty-five years. John enjoyed hunting, billiards, horseshoes and most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
John will be dearly missed by his wife, Ruth of Savanna; one son, Larry (Kim) Twigg of Davenport, Iowa; four daughters, Heidi Robertson of Hanover, Stephanie Twigg of Savanna, Kelly Hebeler of Savanna, and Tina (Conan) Dickman of Lanark, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Halie, Emmit, Harlie, Gage, Autumn, and Isabella; three brothers, Edward W. Hebeler Jr. of Lincoln, Illinois, Franklin H. (JoLinda) Hebeler of Lanark, Illinois and Alfred D. (Denise) Hebeler of Loves Park, Illinois; five sisters, Anna K. Hubble of Savanna, Shirley J. (Jack) Lieffort of Savanna, Dorothy L. (Bruce) Motten of Savanna, Karen S. Hintgen of Bluegrass, Iowa and Shelly M. Kratzenberger of Madison, Wisconsin.
John is preceded in death his parents; and one sister Joyce Dewey.
