John Curtis Brigham, age 69, of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at the Law Jones Funeral Home Savanna, with Pastor Lorraine Boucon officiating. Burial will be in the Lost Mound Cemetery, rural Hanover, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 24th at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A general memorial fund has been established in John’s name.John was born September 16, 1936 in Aurora, Illinois the son of Arthur and Mary (McIntyre) Brigham. John graduated from Savanna High School, Class of 1954 and later attended Aurora College, Aurora, Illinois. He married Linda Noordhoff July 31, 1966 in Lanark, Illinois. Linda passed away on October 20, 2000.John worked as a Bank Officer at the Thomson State Bank in the Savanna Office, retiring in 2001. Prior to banking John worked as a Social Worker in Chicago and also in Carroll County. He previously taught Biology in Thomson, Illinois and was formerly the owner of Carroll County TV, Savanna, Illinois.John served as a member of the Savanna School Board and was also a past member of Savanna Rotary Club. John enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.John will be dearly missed by; one son John (Julie) Brigham, Savanna, Illinois; three daughters, Kathy (Dale) Sima of Johnsburg, Illinois, Chris (Jack) Gaura, Chicago, Illinois, and Mary (Scott) Schulze, Crystal Lake, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and one sister Jean (Lyle) Webster, Savanna, Illinois. John was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Linda.
