John “Jack” Allen Noble, 85, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025. Born on May 26, 1939, in Savanna, Illinois, Jack was the beloved son of Alma Noble and Floyd W. Noble. He was baptized into faith on August 27, 1939, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Savanna.
A graduate of Savanna Community High School’s Class of 1957, Jack served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964, later receiving an honorable discharge. Following his service, he pursued his passion for automotive repair, completing the Scott Community Auto Tech program and mentoring under the esteemed Raymond Messmer—a relationship that remained a cornerstone of his life. In 1976, Jack realized his dream of owning a business, opening his own auto body shop, Noble Auto Body, which he operated with dedication until his retirement.
Jack found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Known as a true “car guy”, he loved sharing his enthusiasm for automobiles, especially American Muscle cars. He was also an avid collector of tractor replicas, a devoted fan of classic country music, and loved attending tractor pulls and county fairs.
He is survived by his children: Ron (Lauren) Noble of Marion, Iowa; Donna (Levi Robertson) Alwine of Bloomington, Indiana; and Debbie (Brad) Seifers of Bloomington, Indiana, his grandchildren Melanie Noble, Amy Noble, Allie Noble, Sydney Alwine, Lindsey Alwine, Ryann (Austin Magness) Seifers, Mia Seifers, and niece Connie (David) Patrick of Florida. Jack will also be deeply missed by his loving partner of many years, Kelly Edwards, along with her children, Shane (Destiny) Edwards and Amber (Robert) Mickelson, and her grandchildren Ivory Edwards, Gabriella Edwards, Braxton Edwards, and Asher Mickelson.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Floyd, his sister, Pat Granger, and his nephew, Mike Ingersoll.
