Jo Ella Eve Frint

Jo Ella Eve Frint was an amazing Mom and devoted Grandma. At the age of 83, Jo Ella passed into the loving care of our God, Friday, November 17, 2023 at Allure of Mt. Carroll Nursing Center. A private service will be held 2pm Monday, November 20, 2023 at Law Jones Eastland, Lanark, followed with private burial in the Lanark Cemetery. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Law Jones Eastland.

Jo Ella was born November 3, 1940 in Dixon, the daughter of Everett and Hazel (Brand) Spanogle. Jo Ella attended Chadwick and Mt. Carroll schools graduating from Mt. Carroll High School in 1958. She went right to work at Newell Co. in Freeport in their offices. It was at Newell that Jo Ella met the love of her life, James Frint, and they married June 10, 1967 in Belvidere. They raised a son, Jim, and celebrated thirty years of marriage prior to James’ passing on July 22, 1997.

“Being there” describes how Jo Ella is remembered as a Mom, Grandma and Friend. She is also remembered by her grandchildren for her love of cooking, especially ham balls and casseroles. She and James were proud of their little farm, Valley View Acres near Chadwick. Jo Ella was also creative and enjoyed needlepoint, macrame and crocheting.

Jo Ella will be dearly missed by her son Jim (Seana) Frint of Barnes, Wisconsin, and three grandchildren, Leevi, Sarah and Jamie. She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband James, and a brother, David Spanogle.
