Jill Ann Iben

February 12, 1957 — June 1, 2015

Jill Ann Iben, age 58, of Thomson, Illinois died Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home with family by her side. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Thomson United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. A memorial fund has been established in her honor.
Jill was born February 12, 1957, the daughter of Harry and Lorrayne (Reils) Shreffler in Joliet, Illinois. She is a 1975 graduate of the Thomson High School. Jill received her Nursing Degree from the Moline Public School of Nursing. On April 7, 1979, Jill married Gary Iben in Chadwick, Illinois. They have celebrated thirty-six years of marriage.
Jill was a Registered Nurse for Mercy Hospital, Clinton, in the OB/Nursery Department for 38 years. She took great pride in helping Mercy Hospital receive Magnet Status for a Top Hospital and great honor in being awarded one of Iowa’s Top 100 Nurses in 2010. She was a member of the Carroll County Board of Health and the Thomson United Methodist Church. Jill loved going shopping with her girls and spending time with her granddaughter, Aubrie. Jill could always be counted on to be there for anyone in the community who needed help.
Jill will be dearly missed by her husband, Gary Iben of Thomson; two children, Stephanie (Ben) Lehman of Hanover, Illinois and Brian (Fiancée Jeanelle) Iben of Thomson; one granddaughter, Aubrie Lehman; a sister, Jan (Chris) Wilkinson of Hunstville, Alabama; her father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Delores Iben of Thomson; a brother-in-law, Craig (Lindy) Iben of Clinton, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Sharon Iben of Springfield, Illinois and Amy (Brian) Wills of Carlinville, Illinois. Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lorrayne.
