Jessie M. Vesperman

Jessie M. Vesperman, age 77, of Mt. Carroll passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll with Reverend Teri Lafferty officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll in Jessie’s honor.
Jessie was born April 30, 1934 the daughter of Delbert and Helen (Timmons) Hatfield in Savanna. She graduated from Savanna High School, Class of 1952. On December 30, 1953, Jessie married Percy Vesperman in Savanna. She worked for the Middlestates Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator for three years then devoted her time to raising her children and being a homemaker. She loved time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially the family dinners. She collected Owls, enjoyed taking photographs and raising flowers. Jessie spent fun time doing puzzles and going to the Riverboat Casino.
Jessie will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Percy; one daughter, Pam (Gary) Howard of Dixon; one son, Jim (Ingrid) Vesperman of Orlando, Florida; three grandsons, Ryan (Callista) Derrer of Sterling, Eric (Erin) Derrer of Savanna and Derik Vesperman of Orlando, Florida; one step-granddaughter, Kimberly (Tracey) Webb of Moline; four great grandchildren, Mylanah, Landen and Ellah Derrer of Sterling and Emilee Derrer of Savanna; two step great granddaughters, Bailey and Chloe Webb of Moline; one sister, Jean McFadden of Savanna; numerous nieces and nephews; two very special family members, Lew and Dorothy Dennison of Savanna. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy and three brothers, Vernon, David and Leroy.
