Jessie Baker

Jessie R. Baker, age 58 of Mt. Carroll, Illinois died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. A memorial fund has been established in Jessie’s memory.
Jessie was born November 13, 1956, the daughter of Melvin Lee and Beverly (Holloway) Ready in Reno, Nevada. She attended and graduated from Delaney School of Beauty in Fresno, California. On December 14, 1985, Jessie married the love of her life Stephen Baker in Charleston, South Carolina.
Jessie worked as a cosmetologist for several years. She later worked in business management for Accessory Time in New Jersey and Phoenix Cable Company in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Jessie enjoyed doing crafts. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her animals and grandkids.
Jessie will be dearly missed by her husband, Stephen of Mt. Carroll; five children, Jeanne (Randy) Tucker of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shawanda Bailey of Johnson City, Tennessee, Micheal Hodges of Janesville, Wisconsin, James Hodges of Des Moines, Iowa, Nicole (Jay) Adland of Savanna, Illinois; eighteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her mother, Beverly Ready of Jonesboro, Louisiana and a brother, Tommy Lee (Johnette) Ready of Summerville, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father and grand parents.
