Jeffrey Michael "Jeff" Haag

March 9, 1965 — March 12, 2016

Jeffrey Michael Haag, age 51, of Mt. Carroll, previously of Chadwick, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 peacefully at home after an extended illness. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:30p.m. Friday, at the Chadwick Cemetery.
Jeff was born March 9, 1965 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Leo and Nancy (Johnston) Haag. He is a graduate of the Chadwick High School with the Class of 1983. He attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Jeff was married two times over the years blessing him with 3 beautiful children.
Jeff lived a good life, had some great hobbies, and made some great friends. His love of agricultural and the outdoors made for some memorable times, his hard work and passion always made it possible for everyone around him to have many good times as well. Animals , four wheelers, new trucks, firearms, antique tractors, model trains, and cutting wood were just a few of his favorite things. Jeff was a full-time semi driver getting to see the entire country, and he was good at what he did. In addition to that, he planted corn and beans, farmed on his own for over a decade and was proud of what he was able to do. He maintained all of his own equipment and proved to be a very self sufficient farmer. Jeff always loved to read, staying current on his hobbies, politics, and the news. He was always a good conversationalist.
Jeff will be dearly missed by his three children, Gerrett Haag and Megan Cox of Mt. Carroll, Candyce Haag of Chadwick and Colton Haag of Chadwick; a granddaughter, Leighla Haag; his mother, Nancy Haag of Dekalb, Illinois; and his sister, Natalie (Chris) Finley of Dekalb. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Leo Haag in 2011.
