Jeannette L. Ronnfeldt, age 91, of Miles, Iowa, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Clover Ridge Assisted Living Center, Maquoketa, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston, Iowa, with Father Paul Lippstock as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery, Miles, Iowa. A Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Jeannettefs memory.
Jeannette was born on January 23, 1919, the daughter of Ben and Florence (Maloney) Eggert in Miles, Iowa. She attended Miles High School and graduated with the Class of 1936. Jeannette married Arnold H. Ronnfeldt on April 27, 1946, in Preston, Iowa. Arnold died on July 17, 1991, in Clinton, Iowa.
Jeannette was the Postmaster of the Miles Post Office for 41 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston and the Miles American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years. Jeannette was a member of NARFE for over 30 years, where she once served as Secretary. She also served on the Miles Election Board for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing all kinds of cards, especially 500. Most of all, Jeannette loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeannette will be dearly missed by one daughter, Mary (Robert) Arendarczyk of Huntley, Illinois; three sons, Gene Ronnfeldt of Maquoketa, Iowa, Gary Ronnfeldt of Miles, Iowa, and Allen Ronnfeldt of Maquoketa, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michelle (Darrell) Portz of Plainfield, Illinois, Kristina Ronnfeldt of Davenport, Iowa and Jessica Arendarczyk of Huntley, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Allison, Nicholas, and Jacob Portz, and Jayce Levi. Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold.
