Jeannette Marie Kuhl

Jeannette Marie Kuhl, 91, of Sabula, Iowa, died peacefully Wednesday, November 23, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at Mercy North Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula. A memorial has been established in Jeannette’s memory.
Jeannette was born September 10, 1920 in Preston, Iowa, the daughter of Edward C. and Dora (Wilcke) Yadof. After graduating from Preston High School she attended Business College. On March 31, 1945, Jeannette married John K. Kuhl after he returned from serving in WWII. He died July 20, 1996.
Jeannette was a homemaker and farmed with her husband, John, from 1945 until 1980. She also had worked at Montgomery Ward and Burpee Seed, Clinton; Huebner Garage, Teeds Grove; and 17 years at the Oxford Speaker Factory, Sabula. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula and Sabula Senior Citizens. Jeannette loved playing cards, reading, baking, and watching westerns and old movies. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.
Jeannette will be dearly missed by a daughter, LaVerne (Daniel) Miller of Sabula; two sons, Edward Kuhl and David (Laura) Kuhl, both of rural Sabula; seven grandchildren, Dawn Miller, Lisa (Eric) Hartman, Jill (Troy) Hansen, Renee Krause, John (Barbara) Kuhl, Julie (Adam) Johnson and Christopher (Anna) Kuhl; and eleven great grandchildren, Bryn, Aivan and Deryn Hartman, Blake and Teryn Hansen, Kaitlyn Kuhl, Coby and Kaci Johnson, and Collin, Wayne and Bria Kuhl. Jeannette is preceded in death by her husband, John; a brother, Leighton; and a daughter in-law, Marlene Kuhl.
