Jeanette Marie Boothby

Jeanette Marie Boothby, 100, of Savanna, IL passed away May 8, 2024 at Allure of Mt. Carroll where she had resided for the last nine years. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Visitation will take place from 11:30 am to 1pm. Burial will follow at Savanna Township Cemetery.

Jeanette Marie (Kehl) Boothby was born on November 30, 1923 to George and Alma (Krug) Kehl, in Savanna, Illinois. She attended several rural schools and graduated from Mt. Carroll high school in 1937. Jeanette married Lawrence Boothby of Savanna, Illinois on March 21, 1945. They farmed on the Boothby farm on Wacker Road until they retired and moved to their Savanna Loop Road residence. Jeanette enjoyed being a homemaker, helping on the farm, gardening, Sunday afternoon drives with her husband and visiting with family and friends. In later years, she kept her mind alert by reading many books.

Jeanette was a member of the Carroll County Farm Bureau and the Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one niece, Hazel (Leroy) Getz of Savanna, niece-in-law, Judith Hartman of Colona; three great nephews, Steven (Michele) Hartman of Chadwick, Jeffrey (Michelle) Hartman of Mt. Carroll and Ronald (Linda) Getz of Savanna; two great nieces, Lori (Martin) Kyger of Rock Falls and Melissa (Sean) Pearson of Colona; three great-great nephews, Michael and Travis Hartman and Riley Getz; and three great-great nieces, Sabreena and Samantha Hartman and Lakin Getz.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, her parents and a nephew, Lowell Hartman.

The family thanks the staff at Allure for the care they have given Jeanette the past nine plus years.
