Jeanette E. Boop, of Hanover, IL, passed away Monday, September 19th, at her home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 23rd, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Hanover. A private family funeral service will be held at a later date.
Jeanette was born September 23, 1936, daughter of Carl and Elda (Wyss) Wald. She grew up on the family farm outside of Monroe, WI, helping milk cows and finish the chores. She attended Monroe High School, graduating with the class of 1954. After high school Jeanette met the love of her life, Clifford Boop. The couple hit it off, and soon married on September 22, 1957. Together, Jeanette and Clifford raised nine children and celebrated 56 years of marriage, until Clifford’s passing in 2013.
Jeanette’s family was the center of her life. She gave birth to children in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and the 80s. Raising nine children took up most of her day, and chores on the farm took up the rest. Later in life Jeanette began making and painting wood crafts. She took her talents to JB Crafts in Woodbine, creating and selling wood lawn art. Jeanette bought JB Crafts in 2009 and ran it until 2013. She gave up the business to take care of her husband.
Jeanette will be dearly missed by her four daughters, Laura (Shawn) Connolly of Dixon, IL, Donna (Rob) Pearce of Elizabeth, IL, Mary (Richard) Fowler of Phoenix, AZ, and Darcy (Paul) Wasmund of East Dubuque, IL; four sons, James (Nancy) Boop of Hanover, Edward (Gayle) Boop of Hanover, Brian Boop of Hanover, and Michael (Krista) Boop of Hanover; son-in-law, Bob Weede of Elizabeth; 17 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her daughter, Angela; her parents, Carl and Elda; and her sister, Carole.
Jeanette’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Croix Hospice for their professional and kind care during this difficult time.
