Jason was born December 28, 1940 in Savanna, the son of Clayton and Helen (Beck) Sturtevant. He attended Savanna Schools and graduated with the Class of 1960. His sisters tell what a good big-brother he was, always protective, and later in life lending a helping hand whenever needed.
In 1967, Jason was drafted into the Army where he spent two years at Fort Carson, Colorado. He spent nearly all his working years with the Milwaukee and Canadian Pacific Railroads as an Engineer. In the late 70s, he met the love of his life, Jeannette (Breuning) Prowant. In September of 1981, Jason and Jeanette were married and joined as a family with her son Chris.
Jason loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He fished on the Mississippi, and also traveled to Ontario, Canada with his buddies to hunt and fish for forty years. Jason enjoyed hunting deer, rabbit, squirrel, moose or bear. Jason was always there for family and friends to help, he was loyal, and most of all enjoyed being a Grandpa to his grandson JJ.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Jeannette; his son, Christopher (Carrie) Prowant; his grandson JJ (Jason John Prowant); and two sisters, Karen (Hoyt) Holmes and Linda (Ronald) Charneski. He is preceded in death by both parents.
