Janice Adelle Morfey, age 85, of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at her home in Savanna, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Antl Hall, Savanna with Reverend Larry Thomson of the First United Methodist Church, Savanna officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:noon. Saturday, April 24, 2010 prior to the service. Memorials may be given in Janice's memory.
Janice was born February 24, 1925 in Ellenboro, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Anita (Noble) Slack. She graduated from Livingston High School, Livingston, Wisconsin with the Class of 1942. On August 15, 1942, Janice married Jimmie Morfey in Madison, Wisconsin.
Janice worked for Eaton Corporation until retirement. She worked as a waitress at Brunswick Supper Club in Savanna and was the Owner – Proprietor of Upper Deck Sportsbar, Savanna.
Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Savanna; the Savanna Rotary Club; Savanna Women of the Moose and the Savanna VFW.
Janice loved spending time with family and friends; she enjoyed wintering in Yuma, Arizona and dedicated herself to being a strong supporter of Savanna.
Janice will be dearly missed by two sons, Larry (Rosemary) Morfey and Micky (Ruth) Morfey; two daughters, Sheryl (the late, Louis) Pretcher and Kathy (Marty) Drury; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; three sisters, Laurene Leath of Platteville, Wisconsin, Ruth Dunham of Clinton, Iowa and Alice Popp of Belmont, Wisconsin; two brothers, Jack Slack and Rick Slack, both of Livingston, Wisconsin.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie; two sisters, Mary Rosemeyer and Patsy Plourde.
