Janette A. Highstrom

Janette A. Highstrom, age 85, of Sabula, Iowa died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula, Iowa with Reverend Robert Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Sabula, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula, Iowa.

Janette was born on May 7, 1921 in Sterling, Iowa, the daughter of William and Laura (Bruhn) Johnson. Janette married Raymond E. Highstrom on June 3, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. Raymond died on June 28, 2001 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a lifetime member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. Janette was also a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, playing Euchre and playing Bingo.

Janette will be dearly missed by three sons, Delbert "Hans" (Carol) Highstrom of Preston, Iowa, Benjamin "Emil" Highstrom of Sabula, Iowa and Dennis (Brenda) Highstrom of Sabula, Iowa; six grandchildren, Rhonda (Drew) Marlowe, Mike Highstrom, Benjamin (Mary) Highstrom Jr., Tracy (Terry) Driscoll, Tina (Todd) Driscoll and Tori (Joshua) Creger; and twelve great-granchildren.

Janette is preceded in death by her husband Raymond; five brothers, Ray, Alvin, Julius, Ernest and Will; and four sisters, Eva, Rose, Laura and Sarah.
