Janet Libberton

Janet Kay Libberton, age 79 of Savanna, Illinois died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded, with a memorial service to take place at a later date.
Janet was born on December 4, 1935 the daughter of Robert and Thelma (Warfield) Delp in Savanna. She attended Mt. Carroll Schools. She married Russell Libberton on July 24, 1953 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She worked as a baker for Shimer College in Mt. Carroll and many nursing homes until her retirement in 2001.Janet was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed painting and doing crafts—which she loved to give away to family and friends.
Janet will be dearly missed by her husband of 61 years, Russell; three sons, Kenneth Libberton of Crestline, California, Gerald (Tina) Libberton of Savanna, and Kerry (Kristin) Libberton of Arvada, Colorado; six grandchildren; and one sister, Judy (Norman) Newenschwander of Belvidere, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Richard.
