Janet Rhea Johnson, age 86, of Thomson, IL, passed away September 9, 2024 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, in Morrison, IL. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 14 at 11 a.m., at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Thomson. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lower York Cemetery, in Thomson.
Janet was born December 22, 1937, in Fulton, IL, the daughter of Allen and Georgia (Creecy) Morrow. She attended Fulton schools and married Earl Johnson on August 8, 1953, in Clinton, IA.
Janet worked as a baker for the University of Wisconsin, Platteville for several years, but mostly served the role of homemaker, as she and Earl raised three children.
A long-time member of Assembly of God Church, Janet was active in the church and even played the Tamberine in the church band. She had a green thumb, with many plants throughout her home, and loved animals dearly. Her cat, Sam, was a dear companion of hers in her final years.
Janet is survived by a brother, Donald (Linda) Morrow, of Arizona; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and best friend, Pastor RoyAnn Mathews. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Georgia; husband, Earl; sons, Raymond Johnson and Earl (Phyllis) Johnson; daughter, Kathleen Johnson; brothers, William (Lucy) Morrow, James Morrow, and Michael Morrow; and sister, Dorothy Anders.
