Jane Vogt

Jane Vogt went home to be with the Lord Almighty, and her beloved Bill, on July 14, 2024 at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA. She was born June 22, 1934, in Savanna, IL, The daughter of Edgar Earl and Ethel Eileen (Getty) Harry. Jane was a graduate of Savanna High School. She married the love of her life, William Meints Vogt on June 2, 1979 at Grace Episcopal Church, Clinton, IA. Bill died June 25, 2008. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Savanna, IL.

Jane was the secretary to the principal at Savanna High School, Savanna, IL. For 29 years, retiring in 1989. She then worked for Sprint Telephone Co., Savanna, IL for 7 years. She also worked one year for John Deere Insurance in Moline, IL. She enjoyed having lunch with her classmates and shopping with Lois. She enjoyed baking cookies and bowled in her younger days.

Law Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, IL is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation and a private graveside service at Oakland Cemetery, Clinton, IA with burial beside her beloved Bill.

Jane is survived by a son, Michael (Patti) Roberts, Castle Rock, CO., and a granddaughter, Sarah Kathleen (Kyle) Bauman, Highlands Ranch, CO., A brother, William L. (Carolann) Harry, Danville, CA. Four step-daughters: Carol (Frank) Cincola, Rock Island, IL- Linda (Patrick) Burke, Wichita Falls, TX- Sharon (Jim) Pieczynski, Goose Lake, IA- Debra (Jim) Pope, Waddell, AZ. Two step-sons: William (Regina) Vogt, Forest, OH and David (Cheryl) Vogt, Chandler, AZ. Brother-in-law: Charles (Jeannette) Vogt, Naples, FL, And many loved step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Husband Bill, her parents, Edgar and Eileen Harry and her younger sister, Suzanne.
