Jane M. Federwitz, age 44, of Dubuque, Iowa formerly of Elizabeth, Illinois and Joliet, Illinois died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the Dubuque Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dubuque, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Dubuque, Iowa, with Pastor Arnold Flater officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at the Church, prior to the service. As per Jane’s request her body has been donated to the Department of Anatomy, Mayo Clinic. Jane was born June 19, 1962 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of James A. and Jean M. (Trainor) Elberts. Jane graduated from Joliet West High School in 1980, she received her Bachelors in Psychology, and in 1985 she received her Masters in Human Services both from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. On June 15, 1985, Jane married Rocky L. Federwitz in Joliet.
Jane was employed by the American Cancer Society as a Navigator. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Dubuque. She enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, and her beloved Siberian Husky, “Shodie”. Jane had an inspiring personality and always knew when to lend an ear to a friend. She cherished her friendships. She believed that her Faith got her through the toughest times in life.
Jane will be dearly missed by her husband, Rocky Federwitz of Dubuque, Iowa; her brother, James Elberts of Channahon, Illinois; her sister, Nancee (Alan) Petersen of Canton, Connecticut; two nieces, Daeyonne and Danae Elberts; and one nephew, Ryan Petersen.
Jane is preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Thomas Elberts.
