James Michl

James Henry Michl, 67 of Sabula Iowa passed away in his home July 13th 2021, ending his battle with cancer. Cremation rites will be accorded. No service will be held at this time.

James also known to most as Big Jim was born July 29th 1953 in Fairbury IL the son of Leonard and Mary (Gaines). On August 20th 1993 he married Donna (Chrest) Marchan.

James worked as a mechanic at ADM and various other places as well as a truck driver for RSC Rental with IUOE Local 150, McManus Trucking, and other local companies over the years. After retiring he loved tinkering in and entertaining his neighborhood friends up in the garage.

James is survived by his wife Donna, three daughters Dawn Rogers (Earl Altensey), Denise (Edward) Gluesing and Billie Hansen (Maggie Rice), 4 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. James is also survived by his three sisters Sara Hagen of Orlando FL, Mary (Gus) Spurgio of Pensacola FL, and Nancy(Scott)Tangeman of Des Moines IA. He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers Loren, Gary, Kenneth and Ricky. Memorials can be made to the family.
