Jim was a life long member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Hanover Community. He was a proud graduate of Hanover High School and Iowa State University.
At an early age, Jim won competitions at the Jo Daviess County Fair for his Suffolk sheep, rams, and ewes breeding projects. After leaving Iowa State, Jim moved into Chicago to trade commodity futures at the Chicago Board of Trade. In 2003, he also was part of the Union League Club, Ray Berg Doubles Handball Championship team.
Jim became active in the Hanover area with several wildlife conservation projects and was active in several area charities. Jim loved golf and hunting and was the Ridgemoor Country Club 2010 member guest championship winner.
Jim was a faithful friend, loving son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his mother Mary, four brothers, two sisters, and many fond nephews, nieces, cousins, a large extended family of friends, and Buddy his cat.
He was also involved with the Franciscan Order, helping to fund several projects including a church in Ecuador.
It is generally believed Jim is somewhere playing gin rummy with his father Jay and arguing over football bets.
