An American Journey of Love, Service, and Generosity. Born in Chicago in 1937, Jim Bissing embodied the true American spirit through his unwavering commitment to family, service, and community. A proud Marine who served from 1957 to 1963, Jim carried the core values of honor and dedication throughout his life.
His greatest love story began when he met Jeanne Cummings at UPS in 1989, a partnership that would define his later years. Though Jim had children from previous marriages - Michael, Laurie, and Bryan - his most profound family connection was with his stepdaughter Amber and grandson Lucas, who became the center of his world.
A skilled craftsman with a passion for motorcycles, Jim's generosity shone through in his most treasured project: building a motorcycle and sidecar for Lucas, a gift symbolizing his love and hope for the next generation. This act epitomized Jim's generous nature - always thinking of others before himself.
Jim's family extended far beyond his immediate circle. With numerous nieces and nephews who adored him, he was a beloved figure who touched many lives. He was a good friend to many and known for his loyalty and honesty. He is deeply loved by his wife of 36 years, Jeanne - his companion and best friend. He is preceded in death by his sisters Rita, Regina, and a brother William.
A loving Husband, Father and Grandfather; 32-year UPS veteran; and US Marine, Jim Bissing lived a life of service, love, and quiet heroism - a true representation of the American dream.
