Jackie K. Jones

Jackie K. Jones, age 62, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with Reverend Mark Balmer of Park Hills Church, Freeport, Illinois officiating. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jackie was born on October 31, 1947, the daughter of Jack and Verla (Breed) Sturtevant in Savanna. She attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. She married Jon P. Jones on June 30, 1989 in Clinton, Iowa.

Jackie was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Jackie was proud to be a fifteen-year survivor of breast cancer. She enjoyed reading, creating crafts and watching old movies. Most of all, Jackie treasured spending time with her family and friends. Her helpfulness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Jackie will be dearly missed by her husband, Jon P. Jones of East Moline, two daughters and son in-laws, Jamie Bailey-Engel and Corey Engel of Freeport, IL, Sara Bailey-Richmond and Ted Richmond of Sparta, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Peyton and Preston Engel, Kally, Abby, Ben, and Amie Richmond; and one sister, Vicki (Robert) Marquardt of Algoma, Wisconsin.
