Irene Hafer-Reynolds

Irene F. Hafer-Reynolds, age 98, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, entered into heaven on July 21, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. A private graveside service will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Chadwick Cemetery in Chadwick, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established in Irene’s memory.
Irene was born June 5, 1917 in Hebron, Nebraska to Irvin and Vera (Deming) Stairs. She married Dean Hafer in 1938 in Nebraska. They later moved to Illinois. He passed away in 1987. In 1993, Irene married Laverne Reynolds, they lived in Freeport, Illinois for eighteen years before moving back to Mt. Carroll. Irene worked as a secretary in the Chadwick School for many years and later went to work for the Farm Bureau in Mt. Carroll and Dr. Deyo Chiropractic also in Mt. Carroll.
Irene enjoyed going up to her summer home in Montello, Wisconsin. She loved music and ballroom dancing.
Irene will be dearly missed by her husband, Laverne; a daughter, Diane (Howard) Dauphin of Mt. Carroll; son, Dennis (Linda) Hafer of Mt. Carroll; four grandchildren, Darrin and Eric (Bridget) Dauphin of Mt. Carroll, Le Allen (Meg) Hafer of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, De Anda Hafer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four great-grandchildren; four step-daughters; eight step-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers.
