Irene M. Andresen

Irene M. Andresen, age 100, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Illinois, formerly of Chadwick, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2006 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick. Reverend Marcia Strahl will officiate. Inurnment will be in Chadwick Cemetery, Chadwick, followed by a time of fellowship and luncheon at the church. Irene was born July 2, 1906 in Chadwick, Illinois, the daughter of Conrad and Emma (Daehler) Geisz. Irene attended Emerson Country School in Rural Chadwick, and graduated, Class of 1924 from the Chadwick High School. On January 16, 1929, Irene married Jens D. Andresen in Clinton, Iowa. Jens passed away on October 14, 1985. Irene loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and baking. Irene was a lifelong member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick. Irene will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Darlene (Jack) Ladd Hogan of Farmington, Maine and Arliss Andresen of Fulton; one son, Harold (Kay) Andresen of Chadwick, Illinois; five grandchildren and five great grandsons. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Jens; a daughter, Doris; two grandsons, Randy and Rodney Andresen and two brothers, Reuben and Clarence Giesz.
