Imogene “Jean” D. Rinehart, age 83, of Polo, Illinois formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at the Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Polo. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Pastor Lisa Mapes of the First United Methodist Church Savanna will officiate. Interment will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family in Jean’s memory.

Jean was born on May 24, 1925 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank P. and Ethel H. (Bisbach) McCartney. She attended Platteville area schools. Jean was married to Harold J. Ehrler. Harold passed away and Jean later married Herschel Rinehart.

Jean was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was also a Nurse’s Aide at the Savanna City Hospital and was a substitute teacher for Savanna area schools. She also farmed near Milledgeville, Illinois for twenty years. She was a member of the Milledgeville Lutheran Church in Milledgeville, where she was active in several church circles. Jean enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, and creating crafts. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time and drinking coffee with her friends.

Jean will be dearly missed by five sons, William “Bill” Ehrler of Napa, California, Robert “Bob” Ehrler of Denver, Colorado, Dennis Ehrler of Savanna, Thomas “Tom” Ehrler of Savanna, and David Ehrler; one daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Ehrler of Forreston, Illinois; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; five brothers, Gerald (Wilma) McCartney of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, Burnell McCartney of Potosi, Wisconsin, Douglas McCartney of Livingston, Wisconsin, Delmar McCartney of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Cletus (Charlene) McCartney of Oregon, Wisconsin; two sisters, Joetta Siegwarth of Clinton, Iowa, and Joyce Yeoman of Camanche, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her two husbands, Harold and Herschel; one daughter, Delores Weiler; and one brother, Robert McCartney.
