Imogene Maxine (Blair) Miller, 96, formally of Woodbine, flew to the arms of her Savior, Jesus on February 17, 2019. Imogene was born in Wacker, Illinois near Savanna on May 26, 1922, daughter of Ralph Owen and Sadie Pearl (Rowe-Goodmiller) Blair. She was educated in Stockton Schools. Imogene married Eugene Sidney Miller on July 27th 1938 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Ia. Imogene worked at the Savanna Ordnance Depot, Atwood Manufacturing Co. and retired after 35 years at Economy Fire and Casualty Co.
Imogene was not only an active member, but a Sunday School teacher for Grace Bible Church of Woodbine. She was a member of the Elizabeth Historical Society and the Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau for many years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking cookies, working on family genealogy, doing word searches and being outdoors—especially for those “family outings”.
Imogene is survived by her three children, son, Jerry Miller of Elizabeth, daughter, Shirley (Paul) Fox of Lena, and daughter, Linda Miller of Loves Park; four grandchildren, Darren (Annie) Miller of Gilbert, Arizona, Dawn (Jeffrey) Yeager of Janesville, Wisconsin, Duane (Jana) Fox of Dyersville, Iowa, and Denise (Wade) Flack of Rock City, Illinois; 10 great-grandchildren, Nikolas and Ethan Miller, Dr. Brandon (Bailey) Yeager, Ariel and Kaden Yeager, Sydney and Taylor Fox, Tonya Orshall, Orion and Chloe Flack; and her special cat, Trinket. She is predeceased by her husband, Eugene, her parents, one brother, Donald, and two sisters, Doris Pohl and Marcella Roberts.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Visitation will take place in the funeral home from 10:00 until the time of the funeral. Pastor Michael Burdett will officiate, and burial services will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery. A luncheon will be at the Grace Bible Church of Woodbine following the burial.
A thank you to FHN hospice for their wonderful care, friends and relatives that called, visited and wrote letters. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
