Ila Dornbush, age 76, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, also at Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be directed the Mt. Carroll Ambulance.
Ila was born January 11, 1935, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Earl R. and Clara B. (Braddy) White. She attended Muscatine Schools. Ila married James Dornbush on September 1, 1979. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2007.
Ila worked at Eaton Manufacturing in Lanark and Savanna for twenty – one years. She also worked as a C.N.A. at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Home and did in home care in the Mt. Carroll area. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework, but loved to spend time with her family and friends most of all.
Ila is survived by one son, Donald (Conniann) Keckler of Lanark, Illinois; one daughter, Laura Curl of Clinton, Iowa; five grandchildren, Angela (Michael) Smith of Byron, Illinois, Dawn (Todd) Bliefnick of Rock Falls, Illinois, Nicole (James) Merboth of Forreston, Illinois, Michele Keckler of Lanark, and Steven Smith of Byron; five great grandchildren, Nicole and Mellisa Smith and Marissa, Kirsten, and Ryan Bliefnick; two sisters, Alberta Knight of Apple Valley, California, and Betty Reed of Muscatine, Iowa; and one brother, Victor Miller of Columbus Junction, Iowa.
Ila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Dornbush; one son, Ralph Keckler; one grandson, Daniel Keckler; and one brother, Ralph Miller.
