Howard Arnold Stolts, age 85 formerly of Chadwick, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at the Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home in Sterling, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Chadwick, Illinois. Burial will be in the Chadwick Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be given to the family in Howard’s memory.
Howard was born September 13, 1920, the son of Paul and Louise (Zabel) Stolts in Ismay, Montana. Howard graduated from Custer County High School, Mile City, Montana, Class of 1939. Howard was in the United States Army during World War II, part of the U.S. Army Field Artillery, 11th Armor Division. On August 18, 1942, he married Marian Irene Taylor in Chadwick. Marian passed away on October 2, 1992.
Howard was the General Manager and Parts Manager for Handel Implement & Hardware for forty-four years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Chadwick, a fifty-four year member of the Chadwick American Legion Post #739; and the Chadwick Masonic Lodge #867.
Howard very much loved and enjoyed his family. In his spare time he enjoyed, word puzzle’s, and taking long walks. Howard was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Howard will be deeply missed by his son, Robert Stolts of Camanche, Iowa; three grandsons, Bryan (Karrie) Stolts of Camanche, Michael Stolts of Wynona, Minnesota and Nickolas Stolts of Clinton, Iowa; two great grandchildren, Kalley and Jonathan Stolts; one brother, Donald (Lorraine) Stolts of Powell, Wyoming.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Marian; and one sister in infancy.
