Henrietta B. Wurster

Henrietta B. Wurster, age 104, (Elizabeth, Illinois oldest resident) passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Elizabeth with Pastor Harvey Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the church. Memorials may be made in her honor for St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Henrietta was born January 4, 1906 in Woodbine township, the daughter of Julius and Caroline (Thain) Wurster. She attended country schools. Henrietta worked as a housekeeper and was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabeth. At a hundred years old she is quoted as saying, “the first hundred years have been great, I have learned something new every year”. Henrietta enjoyed listening to the Lutheran Hour radio show. She is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers and four sisters. Henrietta is survived by nieces and nephews.
