Helga H. Wallette

Helga H. Wallette, age 79 of Moline, Illinois formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna.
Helga was born on November 13, 1931, the daughter of Wilhelm and Kate (Rusch) Kapernick in Berlin, Germany. She was raised in Germany graduating from High School in Berlin. Helga married Moses Wallette on March 4, 1960 in Berlin.Helga worked in various manufacturing jobs in Berlin, Germany. She would meet her future husband, Moses who was stationed in Germany. Helga and Moses moved to Savanna, Illinois in 1962. Helga went to work for the Eaton Corporation, Savanna for thirteen years. She enjoyed going out with the Ladies Eaton Club, gardening, watching T.V., and cooking. Most of all, Helga loved spending time with her family and hosting holidays in her home.Helga will be dearly missed by one son, John (Mary) Wallette of Savanna; one daughter, Lynn (Bill Dunn) Mantua of Moline, Illinois; four grandchildren; Angela (Matthew) Handel of Thomson, Illinois, Amber Mantua of Freeport, Illinois, Matthew Mantua of Moline and Johann Wallette of Kempton, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Analisa Handel and Aiden Foley; and one brother, Helmut Kapernick of Berlin, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses; one sister, Hilde Baaron; and three brothers, Herbert, Kurt and Werner Kapernick; and one son in-law, Romano Mantua.
