Helene A. “Dolly” Bork, age 83, of Savanna, Illinois, died at home Saturday, March 26, 2005. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the Frank Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Friends may call from 7-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be made in Dolly’s name.
Dolly was born January 4, 1922 in Emden, Illinois to Gieke and Anna (Wilts) Wubben. She married Marshall Bork, Sr. on February 22, 1941 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Marshall died March 13, 1970.Dolly was a homemaker and farmed most of her life. She is a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Savanna Moose Lodge. She enjoyed collecting cow memorabilia and gardening. Her family was most important to her.
Dolly is survived by one son, Marshall “Bud” Bork, Jr. of rural Savanna, Illinois; four daughters, Carol Schreiner of Thomson, Illinois, Sharon Sack and Shirley (Ron) Brashaw, all of Mt.Carroll and Cathryn Mathewson of Hinesville, Georgia; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; one brother, Harlan A. Wubben of Freeport, Illinois; and two sisters, Matilda “Jane” Wubben of Freeport and Dorothy Lashbrook of Red Oak, Illinois.Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall; her parents; two brothers, John and Gerald “Bud” Wubben; and a great grandson, Daniel Robichaud
