Helen M. Smith, age 85 of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died Monday, February 22, 2010, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, Illinois.
Helen was born on November 18, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Mabel (Gump) VanBuskirk. On May 28, 1942, Helen married Clarence Smith , he preceded her in death, September 21, 2000 in Freeport, Illinois.
Helen enjoyed fishing and taking care of her flower gardens. Most of all, she enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family.
Helen is survived and lovingly remembered by a son; Larry L. Smith of Woodlawn, Illinois; two daughters, Norma VanBuskirk of Freeport, Illinois and Janice (Dennis) Shaw of Savanna, Illinois; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence and her sister, Dorothy Sucher.
