Helen Friederich

Helen E. Friederich, age 86, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, formerly of rural Chadwick, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Mt. Carroll. Reverend Wayne Schneider will officiate. Burial will take place at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Mt. Carroll. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Helen was born August 10, 1919, the daughter of William and Minnie (Ziesche) Zahn in Fairhaven Township, Illinois. Helen attended Emerson Country School in rural Chadwick. On December 31, 1942, Helen married Percy L. Friederich, in the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage in rural Mt. Carroll. Percy passed away on June 1, 2003.
Helen enjoyed being a homemaker, and helping Percy on the farm for twenty-nine years.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Helen enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, playing the organ, and mowing grass.
Helen will be deeply missed by her brother, Frank (Grace) Zahn of Lanark, Illinois; many local nieces and nephews include; Vivian (Jim) Eaton of Mt. Carroll, Frank (Heather) Zahn, Jr. of Lanark, Norma Jean McColley of Lanark, Brenda Lee (Ron) Messenger of Lanark, Ida Elizabeth (Steve) Merkel of Chadwick, Christine Zahn of Lanark, Darlene (Victor) Karvelius of Belvidere, Illinois, Ward (Janel) Friederich of Savanna; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy.
