Hazel Steffes

Hazel H. Steffes, age 59 of Camanche, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. A visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation and burial will take place at a later date in Savanna Township Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Hazel’s memory.
Hazel was born March 3, 1956 the daughter of Elwin L. and Charlotte A. (Lahre) Rice in Savanna. She enjoyed hunting, camping, being out on the river fishing and boating. She truly enjoyed taking care of her dogs. Most of all Hazel, cherished the time she spent with her family and her companion, Joe.
Hazel is survived by her two sons, Jason (Tracy) Steffes of Camanche, Joe (Jessica Knauer) Steffes of Elizabeth, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jaleigh Foltz, Easton, Paxton, Sawyer Steffes; three brothers, Francis (Janice) Rice of Galesburg, Illinois, Raymond Rice of Savanna, Elwin Rice of Thomson, Illinois and her companion, Joe Walker of Camanche. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Verle, Clarence and Larry Rice.
