Hazel L. Anderson

Hazel L. Anderson, age 85, of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at her home in Savanna. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Funeral Home. Hazel was born on January 10, 1924 in rural Savanna, the daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth (Monn) Green. She attended Savanna area schools. Hazel married William A. “Bill” Anderson on December 18, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. Bill passed away on February 15, 1983.Hazel enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching “Nick at Night” on television. Hazel worked as an assembler at Eaton Corporation, Savanna, until her retirement in the 1980’s. Hazel will be dearly missed by her three sons, Albert Leroy (Jackie Ross) of Savanna, Samuel Enoch (Betty Stewart) Anderson of Savanna, and Richard Truman (Ruth Daniels) of Thomson, Illinois; daughter in-law, Ruth Anderson of Savanna; thirteen grandchildren, Hazel (Chad) Corbett of Savanna, Deanna (Lee) Stuart of Fulton, Illinois, Ardella (Lisa) Anderson of Clinton, Iowa, Jerry (Joan) Anderson of Savanna, Angela (Mike) Smith of Port Byron, Illinois, Pauline (Tim) Smith of Clinton, Cindy Anderson of Clinton, Elizabeth Anderson of Clinton, Sue (Dave) Hood of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sherry (Kendell) McNees of Sterling, Illinois, Laura Cox of Savanna, John Anderson of Little Rock, and William Anderson of Thomson; thirty great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and one special great great-granddaughter, Madison Dyson.Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill”; one son, Tabertas “Bub” Anderson; two daughters, Ellen and Leona Anderson; one great granddaughter, Samantha Stuart; five brothers and six sisters.
