Harry Le Auwaerter

Harry Le Auwaerter was born, Harry LeRoy on July 19, 1925 the son of Harry and Lauretta (Harmon) Auwaerter in Keokuk, Iowa. This Iowa Farm Boy passed on to the Lord, April 1, 2006 in FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the Funeral Home. Harry served his country during World War II in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Savanna Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2223. Harry worked as an Excavating Contractor, building golf courses, roads, housing sub-divisions, ski slopes and beautiful ponds.
Harry is survived by his wife, Betty of West Chicago, Illinois; two sons, Robert (Carrie) Auwaerter of St. Charles, Illinois and Weston Hill-Auwaerter of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; two daughters, Sandra (Terrence) True of San Antonio, Texas and Sharon (Brian) Morrison of Houston, Texas; one sister, Patricia (LaVerne) Schier of Florida; five grandchildren; Michael (Amanda) True; Zachary True; Adaline Werthwein; Shannon (Jeffrey) Klien; Garner Auwaerter; two great grandchildren, Reese True and one to be born any day; and Susie.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
