Harold Ernest Bork

Harold Ernest Bork, age 81, of Lanark, Illinois passed away at home. He was found resting in peace March 1, 2011. There will be no services per Harold’s request. Harold was born September 22, 1929 in Mt. Carroll, the son of Amil H. and Hazel Matilda (Thompson) Bork. He was brought up in the Lutheran Faith and attended Country Schools in Woodland Twp.. He is a Mt. Carroll High School graduate with the Class of 1949. Harold served his country during a tour in Korea in the US Army. Harold farmed west of Mt. Carroll most of his life. He was a member of the Mt. Carroll American Legion. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing musical instruments. Harold is survived by two sisters, Rachel Kingery of Mt. Carroll and Frances (Raymond) Knapp of Mt. Carroll; three brothers, Glen (Mildred) Bork of Mt. Carroll, Orville (Eleanor) Bork of Leigh Acres, Florida and Gerald (Doris) Bork of Mt. Carroll; and many nieces and nephews. Harold is preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, Helen Goddard and Evelyn Schnitzler; and five brothers, Marshall, Donald, Clyde, Richard and Lloyd.
