Gregory J. Eversoll, age 67, of Savanna, IL, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. Family and friends are invited to share in Greg’s life at lawjonesfuneralhome.com.

Greg was born February 21, 1955 in Rockford, IL, the son of William and D. Allene (Chennaweth) Eversoll. He attended Harlem High School in Rockford, later earning his diploma from Cleveland Community College in Shelby, NC. Greg would hold various positions in multiple industries throughout his life, including; commercial fishing, painting, textile mills (in North Carolina), cheese factory, Essex Wire, Primera foods, and Elite Tree Service.

In his free time, Greg enjoyed pool and darts, golfing, fishing, and gardening. Each spring he’d look forward to hunting for morrels, and riding his lawn mower always brought him peace. He’ll be remembered as a hard worker, and a man who enjoyed the simple things in life.

Greg is survived by his son, Allen Eversoll, of Summerset, KY; daughter, Jessica R. Robertson, of Savanna, IL; friend and former wife, Joyce Eversoll, of Savanna; step-sons, John Jones, of Rockford, IL and John Wagenknecht, of Lula, GA; seven grandchildren (with another on the way); 16 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Eversoll, Karla (Jim) Bagley, and Wilberta Eversoll; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Greg is preceded in death by his parents, William and Allene; son, Derek Eversoll; daughter, Jenni Eversoll; step-son, Randy M. Wagenknecht; step-granddaughter, Amber Wagenknecht; brother, Lewis Eversoll; sister, Billie Kay Eversoll (infant); and niece, Kim Benson-Gray.
