Grace M. Welsh

Grace M. Welsh, age 83, of Savanna, Illinois, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at Big Meadows Nursing Facility in Savanna, Illinois. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Private family inurnment will be in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna at a later date. Grace was born on August 10, 1925, the daughter of Samuel and Mae (Davis) Corbett in Washington Township, rural Savanna. She attended Savanna area schools. She worked at the Garment Factory for over twenty years as a seamstress on the factory line, and as waitress at Grimms Café in Savanna. Grace married Guy Welsh on August 25, 1985 in Visalia, California. Guy died on December 3, 1999 in Visalia, California.
Grace was a volunteer worker with senior citizens. She was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Savanna. Grace enjoyed gardening and visiting with shut-ins. But most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.
Grace will be dearly missed by her two step-sons, Lee (Dana) Welsh of Selma, California, Jack (Marsha) Welsh of Canada; one sister, Beulah Pratt of Savanna, one brother, Russell (Joyce) Corbett of Savanna and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; two brothers, Fritz and Wilbur; and three sisters, Helen, Clara, and Emma.
