Grace J. Swanson

Grace J. Swanson, age 91, of Elizabeth, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006, at her home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Pastor John Currier formerly of Grace Bible Church, Woodbine, Illinois will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Grace was born on December 17, 1914, the daughter of Hjalmar and Augusta (Andersson) Holm in Chicago, Illinois. On November 11, 1939, Grace married Russell J. Swanson in Chicago, Illinois. Russell passed away on March 13, 1992 at his home.
Grace was a homemaker, who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed embroidery and crafts, but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Grace is survived by three daughters, Judith K. Proud Stadelman of Elizabeth, Illinois, Diane Kostecki of Elizabeth, Illinois and Janis (Michael) Fanning of Homewood, Illinois; one sister LaVerne Boyd of Las Vegas, Nevada; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Grace is preceded in death by her husband Russell; one son, Russell; and three brothers, Sigurd, Herbert and Stanley.
