Grace Lillian Naeve, age 93, of Preston, Iowa, died on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston with Reverend Gregory Geier officiating. Burial will take place in Center Grove Cemetery, rural Goose Lake, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston. A memorial fund has been established in Grace’s memory.
Grace was born on March 19, 1919, the daughter of Fred and Meta (Schroeder) Ronnfeldt in Clinton, Iowa. She was raised in Preston and attended Preston Schools. Grace married Henry Naeve on September 8, 1937 in Preston, Iowa. Henry died on May 9, 1976 in Clinton, Iowa.
Grace was a homemaker and farmwife who treasured taking care of her family and helped her husband with the farm. Grace also worked as an in-home nurse in Clinton from 1971-1974. Grace was a longtime member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens and the Martha’s Circle. Grace loved spending time and playing cards with her family and friends, especially playing 500.
Grace will be dearly missed by her two children, Roy (Sharon) Naeve of Olive Branch, Mississippi and RuthAnn (Lauren) Reimer of Aurora, Illinois; four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Henry and two brothers, Arnold and Lester Ronnfeldt.
