Gordon S. “Mac” McFadden, age 76, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at his home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna with Pastor Michael Jones of York Baptist Church, Thomson, officiating. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2006 at the Funeral Home. Gordon was born October 25, 1929, the son of Maurice and Elsie (Schmidt) McFadden in Savanna. He attended Savanna schools. On October 8, 1949, Gordon married Wilma Jean Hatfield in Savanna. He worked for Interstate Power Company for forty-two years, retiring in 1991. Gordon was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Savanna Moose Lodge #1095 and the American Association of Retired Personnel.
Gordon very much loved and enjoyed his family, especially watching his sons compete in sports and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed taking care of his home and yard. Gordon was an avid fan of Chicago Cubs Baseball and Chicago Bulls Basketball.
Gordon will be dearly missed by his wife, Wilma Jean; three sons, Wayne (Cynthia) McFadden of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Dennis (Barbara) McFadden of Savanna and Kenneth McFadden of Savanna; four grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) McFadden, Keri (Heath) Burkholder, Alissa McFadden and Alex McFadden; three great grandchildren, Dalton and Drew Burkholder and Aubrey McFadden; two brothers, Raymond (Lucille) McFadden of Lanark, Illinois and Gary (Patty) McFadden of LeClaire, Iowa; four sisters, Betty (Mike) Rusynyk of Parma, Ohio, Marilyn (Hubert) Wise of Clinton, Iowa, Sharon Welch of Elgin, Illinois and Maureen (Wayne) Ellinor of Lanark;
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in-law, Kyle Welch.
