Gloria Munz

Gloria Jeanne Munz, age 67, of Sabula, Iowa, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Gloria was born on May 19, 1947, the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth “Betty” (Stoltenburg) Hoppe in Clinton, Iowa. She was raised in Clinton by mother, Betty and stepfather Delbert Ilg. Gloria attended Clinton High School and graduated with the Class of 1964. Gloria married Ramiro Garcia in 1966. She later married Bob Munz in 1982. Bob died on July 6, 2008.
Gloria treasured staying home and taking care of her family. She worked for Belscot Department Store in Rock Falls, Illinois for nine years, after which, she became a homemaker, and finally, worked at Tyco Manufacturing in Sabula. Gloria was known by family and friends to be modest, but direct—she wasn't afraid to tell you like it is. She enjoyed completing crosswords and puzzles and watching sports on television, especially the Bears, Broncos and the Cubs. Most of all, Gloria cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Gloria will be dearly missed by one son, Greg Garcia of Sterling, Illinois; two daughters, Tina (Mark) Danciu of Mundelein, Illinois and Laurie (Stephen) Griggs of Tennessee; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and three stepchildren, Edward Munz of Tampico, Illinois, Tina Egan of Kansas City, Kansas and Stacey Smith of Aurora, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Munz and her parents.
