Glen was born July 28, 1931, the son of Earl B. and Fleda (Carstensen) Kelly in Preston. He attended Preston High School and graduated with the Class of 1950. Glen was a patriot—he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country during the Korean War. On December 21, 1952, Glen married the love of his life Mary J. Meyer in Preston, the celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Glen farmed for many years in the Preston area and also sold Pioneer Seed Corn for 29 years. He owned and operated Kelly’s Greenhouse since 1985 with his wife Mary. Glen was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and the Preston American Legion. The family has many fond memories of Glen and his gentle presence. He loved every minute when his children and grandchildren would come visit. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and loved the Chicago Cubs and his dog Mickey.
