Glen "Bud" Doty, age 86 of Savanna Illinois, died on Friday, October 12, 2012 surrounded by his family at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. Glen was born on December 10, 1925, the son of James and Margaret Doty in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Glen married Jureine "Jeri" Lantz on October 6, 1952 in Mt. Carroll. He worked on the Illinois Department of Transportation for several years. Glen proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Moose, American Legion, and a past member of the Rolling Hills Progress Center Auxiliary.
Bud enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening, and telling stories about his work. He enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, and football. He was a die-hard Cubs fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Larry) Randecker of Mission, TX and Bonnie (Jim) Carter of Savanna, IL; one son Bradley Lantz of Brunswick, Ohio. Grandchildren are Michelle (Gordy) Hartman of Milan IL, Tara (Chad) Ferris of Fulton IL, Jake (Jessica Hamling) Engaldo of Savanna IL, Jennifer, Julie and Jeremy Lantz of Brunswick Ohio, Neil Randecker of Mt. Carroll, Nicole Randecker of Savanna and Curt Randecker of Lanark; and several great-grandchildren.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife Jureine "Jeri" Doty; his parents; one brother Earl Doty; one sister Ruth Butts, and one son James Doty.
