Gladys M. Daniels, age 88 of Miles, Iowa, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday April 26, 2010 at Green Island Congregational Church, Green Island, Iowa with Reverend Dennis Keane officiating. Burial will take place in Reeseville Cemetery, rural Miles, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 26, 2010 at Green Island Congregational Church, Green Island. Memorials may be given Jackson County Hospice or the Green Island Congregational Church in Gladys’ honor.
Gladys was born on August 28, 1921, the daughter of Henry E. and Anna L. (Marshall) Flor in Green Island. She attended Green Island country school. On October 30, 1946, Gladys married Wilbert “Bud” Daniels in Bellevue, Iowa. Bud died September 30, 2005 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Gladys farmed with her husband in the Miles area and enjoyed being a homemaker. Gladys was a member of the Green Island Congregational Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, fishing, hunting and trapping with husband, Bud. Gladys was very fond of her Siamese cat “Cricket”. Most of all, Gladys loved spending time with her family and friends.
Gladys will be dearly missed by her daughter, Leanna (Charles) De Clercq of Miles, Iowa; one brother, Ralph (Alene) Flor; and one sister in-law, Marilyn Flor, both of Sabula, Iowa
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Bud; one son, Merlin Eugene Daniels and two brothers, John Flor and Alfred Flor.
