Gertrude O. Veysey

Gertrude O. Veysey, age 83, of Elizabeth, IL died Thursday, November 29, 2007 in Galena Stauss Hospital, Galena, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Elizabeth with Father Chris Kuhn as Celebrant. Burial will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, DesPlaines, Illinois. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
Gertrude was born October 24, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Darr) Sibert in Coshocton, Ohio. On June 15, 1958, she married Thomas Veysey in Chicago, Illinois. Gertrude enjoyed being a housewife and mother, she dedicated her time to Boy Scouts of America, she loved being a Den Mother, Den Leader Coach and a Unit Commissioner. She also did hand work such as sewing and embroidery. Gertrude worked side by side with her husband in different business ventures. She was truly dedicated to her family.
Gertrude is survived by her husband, Thomas of Elizabeth; one son, John Thomas; one brother, Paul (Betty) Sibert of Port St. Lucy, Florida; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Frances Onita Cunningham; and daughter in-law, Patricia.
